Dr. József Domokos, Associate Professor, was born in 1978 in Sovata. He graduated from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 2001 with a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications and a Master’s degree in Multimedia Technologies. In 2009, he defended his dissertation on continuous speech recognition and natural language processing and obtained a PhD in Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, also at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Since 2004, he has been a full-time lecturer at Sapientia University of Transylvania, while he has been a postdoctoral researcher (2010-2013), then Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering (2014-2020) and since 2021, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Sapientia University of Transylvania, Târgu Mureș, Hungary. His research interests include speech signal processing, IoT systems and Java-based technologies. Since 2014 he has been the President of the Gyula Vályi Mathematical Society. Since 2023, he has been President of the Transylvanian Hungarian Society of Engineering Sciences, Section of Electrical Engineering and Energy and Co-Chair of the Samokt-Enelko Multiconference. He is a member of EURASIP (European Association for Signal Processing) and an external public body member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Cluj-Napoca Regional Committee.
