Dr. Bálint Markó serves as President of the National Research Council. His research focuses on the behavioural ecology of social insects, host–parasite relationships, and insect community ecology. His current interests include enhancing the competitiveness of Romanian higher education, increasing Hungarian youth participation in academia, and bridging the innovation gap.
