Zalán Bodó is Associate Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the Babeș-Bolyai University, and Associate Professor at the Hungarian Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. He completed his university studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the UBB, where in 2009 he defended his doctoral thesis entitled Semi-supervised learning with kernels. He joined the faculty in 2008 as an assistant professor, was promoted to associate professor in 2011 and to associate professor in 2017. His scientific research is related to artificial intelligence, machine learning methods, and more narrowly to natural language processing, semi-supervised learning methods, hashing algorithms and machine vision. In addition to research, he believes it is important to provide high quality academic teaching, mentoring and to involve students in research activities as early as possible.
